New Genesis 2010 Lineup Is Perfect For Commuter
Less than a month before release, Genesis has finally released details and images for their 2010 lineup. You don’t actually have to wait for these bikes as long as intially thought because although they are in the 2010 lineup, they are being released this September.
Genesis have decided to return to the road bike market this year with their 2010 lineup. The Aether 10 and Aether 20 are the first bikes in the Genesis 2010 lineup racing bikes.
Designed mainly for daily commuters, the Aether is perfect for city travel. Both feature ALX-9 aluminium frames as well as carbon-legged forks. However, this comes at a price. The cheapest of the two models, the Aether 10, costs £599.99 and features quality parts from Shimano and Sora. To go for the next up model, the Aether 20, it will cost another £200 on top of the Aether 10. For your £799.99, you will get a mix of Sora and Shimano Tiagra parts.
The next bike is the Vapour. This bike will cost you around £850, which is justified as it features an ALX-9 6069 aluminium frame. To go alongside your lightweight frame, you also get a mix of Shimano Tiagra and Sora parts, plus a new front hanger mount, designed by Genesis to supply better braking.
The third bike up is the Flyer. This one is a singlespeed bike and features a number of stylish bonuses. This bike is made from a Reynolds 520 steel frame, with features such as chrome cable clips and a white chain. This amazingly good looking bike will cost you £599.99, not a bad price really. The strange thing is that this bike doesn’t feature any bottle bosses so you can attach any bike accessories, Genesis must think that if you ride one of these bikes, you won’t sweat through your cycle clothing.
The road bikes announced were just a side to your main course, the huge array of mountain bikes announced. The first one is the Core which comes in two varieties. There is the more expensive Core 50 for £1,199.99, or the cheaper Core 40 for £999.99.
The next one up is the Alpitude costing £1,699.99, not to be mistaken with the Altitude, features a Reynolds 853 steel frame, perfect for long trails.
The iO is the cheapest mountain bike on the 2010 lineup. This bike comes in two different versions, the singlespeed, costing £599.99, or the eight-speed version for £1,099.99. Both versions come with a Reynolds 520 steel frame.
The final bike in the lineup is the Altitude, and it comes in 5 different models. Built with a Reynolds 520 frame, the Altitude 00 and the Altitude 10 are the cheapest costing £799.99 for the 00 and £999.99 for the 10. As the altitude number goes higher, so does the price, the next up is the Altitude 20. It comes with a Reynolds 853 steel frame and costs a pricey sum of £1,449.99. Glacing over the 4th model, the fifth and final one is the Altitude Ti, also the most expensive. This one features a titanium frame and will cost you a whopping £2,799.99.
