Car Bike Racks Let You Be Prepared For Riding

So you love to bicycle. You have to go on a road trip. Is your bike left behind or do you bring it with you?

The answer is obvious - take it with you!

We all know how much fun it is bike riding. It’s good exercise, you get places a lot faster than if you were jogging, and you can see all the beautiful scenery across this great country.

So what’s stopping you from bringing your bike with you?

Space considerations? Obviously with all the luggage that you’ll need to take with you, there won’t be room for the bike.

The pain of packing it? Even if there is room in your trunk for your bike, you might have to take the wheel off to get it to fit, and be worried about scratching the car to boot.

There is a simple solution for this - a car bike rack. There are two main types of bike carriers - rear mounted ones (that obviously go on the back of your car), and one that fits on the car roof. You’ll have to decide which type would best suit your needs.

Put off by the cost of buying a bike rack? Well, think about it. Maintaining your health on the road is an important consideration - there’s hidden health costs factored in right there! Sure, you could rent a bike if you wanted to go riding, but that will cost (not to mention that the bike you get is unlikely to be very good quality).

There’s such a thing as serendipity. You could be visiting a place that you’ve never been to before, so you don’t think ahead of time to bring your bike. You arrive and find out that there is some great scenery to be seen - a park, a trail, or something! - and you don’t have your bike with you. If you get into the habit of taking your bike with you wherever, you won’t have to worry about missing out on these lucky finds, and your bike rack makes everything easy.

Family Fun With a Bicycle

The best time to get children involved in biking is when they are young.

Children in this country simply do not get enough exercise. They spend too much time sitting around watching television or playing video games. (But if they’re reading a book - don’t bother them! Let them read). And even if kids do go outside, often they are simply “hanging out” with their friends and not getting any exercise at all.

It’s also the case that many families don’t spend enough time with each other. “They grow up so fast,” is a common phrase that parents use about the time lost with their kids. Instill in your kids a love of exercise early, and a good relationship with you. Go biking together - not only will you be spending time together and getting exercise, but you’ll also be sharing experiences that will stay with all of you for the rest of your life. It doesn’t matter if they’re using a Strider Balance Bike or a Mini Della Cruz, there is always time to get your kids into cycling. (Unfortunately they will have to leave their Radio Flyer Big Wheel at home.)

And that brings us back to the bike carrier. Each child has to have their own bike, and mom and dad have to have their own bike, and they all need to be brought along on your trips. So pick up that bike carrier, and get out and start having fun.
