2 Star Dublin Hotels Outside the City Centre
My wife and I are planning a trip to Dublin in the near future. So, I was hunting around for some hotels that we could stay at which were “out-of-the-way” a little bit. I came across this article in Article Dashboard that seemed to be just what I was looking for and I thought I would share it with you. Naturally, we are taking our bikes. That’s a subject for another post. But, if you’re ever planning to bicycle around Ireland, I hope this article helps you.
West of Dublin city centre…
· The Lucan Spa Hotel
This landmark hotel with its unusual copper roof tower can be found just off the M50 on the N4 motorway so it’s ideal if you’re coming by car from the west or south. The hotel has 70 guest rooms, a bar, a bistro and a restaurant. The Lucan Spa is about 12km west of the city centre and has easy acess to both the city and airport making it a great base for your stay in Dublin.

The West County Hotel is located in Chapelizod village about 7km west of the city centre. North of Dublin city centre…
· Sunnybank Hotel

The Baily is a beautiful newly refurbished 2 star hotel located in Howth County Dublin. The hotel is just a 20 minute drive north or Dublin city centre and a 15 minute drive from Dublin Airport.The hotel has 20 guest rooms and a really trendy bar called Bá Mizu which is a late bar from Thursday to Sunday. When you stay here you can enjoy many nearby golf courses or maybe visit Howth Castle and the National Transport Museum .
South of Dublin city centre…
· The Portobello Hotel
The Portobello Hotel is located on South Richmond Street south of Dublin city centre near the Grand Canal. The hotel is just about a 10/15 minute walk from the city centre. It has 24 guest rooms, a traditional Irish bar and a nightclub called Temptation.
· The Kingston Hotel
This delightful 2 star hotel has a fantastic location in Dun Laoghaire overlooking the sea. With 45 cosy guestrooms, a traditional Irish style pub, a beergarden and a bistro, the Kingston makes a great base for your city break. Stay here and you’ll be within walking distance of the Ferryport and just a 15 minute drive from the city centre.
